Simon Liddiard patent owner and designer of the sheet originally came up with the idea when he saw a vehicle lose its load while transporting a bin to disposal. This caused a great many problems for the driver and company. Shrink wrap was a temporary solution to the problem but this was not effective and was totally inappropriate for the company’s image. This new design sheet folds under the rear of the bin preventing waste from escaping .Simon received an inventor’s award in February 2007 from Ideas North West, he was also entered for the Biffa waste health and safety awards 2007 and has since won the title.
